Meet the 20 Finalists for the 2016 Serious Games Showcase & Challenge


The 2016 Serious Games Showcase& Challenge finalists have been selected and will be a part of this year’s Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), to be held November 28 – December 2  in the West Concourse of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

A panel of evaluators from around the globe are now reviewing the 20 finalists and will determine the winners in the Business, Government and Student categories.

In addition to the development category for which the game was submitted, all games will be eligible for the new Innovation Award.  The Innovation Award aims to recognize innovation in Serious Games.  For purposes of the Challenge, innovation is defined as a characteristic or technique that enhances the Serious Game in a new or different way.  The technique can be in terms of hardware integration, instructional design, game design, content topic or a combination thereof.

The Innovation Award will be judged by and is awarded at the sole discretion of the Innovation Committee.  Innovation finalists will showcase their game on the I/ITSEC conference exhibit floor.  The winner will be announced at the Challenge Award Ceremony.

Some of the finalists are also competing for the Best Mobile category. The People’s Choice award will be voted on by I/ITSEC attendees, and the Students’ Choice winner will be voted on by student evaluators, totaling the 7 awards to be reaped.
